 The Challenge

Our client — a successful legal practice with offices in Cheadle Hulme and Manchester — wanted their business running like a well-oiled machine.

In practical terms, that meant reducing the office space they were paying for. They had more square footage than they were getting value out of, the geographical placement of staff was limiting productivity, and there were real concerns about how to enable remote working without compromising the security of client data.

They were already sourcing Microsoft 365 from us, so when they came to us with the challenge, we already understood their environment.

 The Solution

We moved their workstations to our Pragma cloud infrastructure and migrated their servers into our hosted cloud environment. Staff connected by secure VPN, with productivity monitoring via ActivTrak — giving the management team more visibility of how the team was working remotely than they'd had when everyone was on-site.

Moving to the cloud also let us extract more life out of their existing legacy PCs — those endpoints no longer had to do the heavy lifting, so they kept running happily rather than needing a refresh.

 The Outcome

What the firm got from the move.

~25% saving

Estimated overall cost saving versus running the previous office-based setup.

Better security

Tighter controls on client matter data plus visibility of who's doing what, when.

Work from anywhere

The team now works productively from anywhere in the country — no office tether.
